CHAPTER 5

Today in English class, Ms. Barber was teaching about guilty pleasures. A guilty pleasure is something that someone considers pleasurable despite feeling guilt for enjoying. Basically, feeling guilty for enjoying something; in most cases something embarrassing.

Ms. Barber assigned everyone to write down a guilty pleasure of their’s and write on an index card. I wrote that I love Star Wars as my guilty pleasure, but in reality, i had something different in mind.

I was actually thinking that my guilty pleasure was going to the bathroom. Yes, discusting, and strange. But I honestly think it’s valid. The bathroom is one of the only times I have to myself, it gives me time to think about many things, and just kind of relax. Gosh, if anyone knew this who knows what people would call me.

When my table was done writing their guilty pleasures I collected them all and handed it to Ms. Barber. Just as soon as I returned from giving the index cards to her I heard the classroom door fling open. I turned around to see who it was.

Blake Prince. My ex. My first love. He was the last person I wanted to see but the first at the same time. I stared at him. Why was he in here? He walked up to Ms. Barber holding a paper in his hand. What did the paper say?

“Whats up, Blake?” Ms. Barber asked with both hands on her hips.

So she knew him; maybe he is in one of her classes another period I thought.

“The office changed my schedule. I’m in this class now. Now you can see me in the morning and won’t go the day missing me,” Blake joked. The class laughed and I did as well even though I didnt want to because I didn’t want him to see me.

“Well, then, I dont agree with that. Maybe your saying this because you miss me huh Blake?”

The class laughed at Ms. Barber’s incredible comeback and Blake just stood there blushing as red as a cherry as he scratched the back of his head thinking of what to say.

“That might be so.” Blake replied.

Ms. Barber chuckeled, “Blake, go ahead and take a seat over there right next to Amy.”

He nodded and walked over to my table and sat next to me.

I didnt look at him the rest of the period.
